When water sits on the hot glass surface (a common scenario in the Dubai heat), the water evaporates, but the minerals remain. These minerals, particularly the calcium, can chemically bond with the silicon dioxide in the glass itself. 

Over time, these mineral deposits can actually begin to etch into the glass surface, creating permanent imperfections. Using aggressive, abrasive cleaners or scrubbing too hard can scratch the glass or damage any existing window tinting, making the problem worse.
