Protecting Matte Paint Requires Experience

Unlike gloss finishes, matte paint cannot be buffed or polished in the usual way. A single mishandled area can leave permanent marks. That’s why this vehicle required both attention and restraint, two values that guide every step of our process.

Our first task was surface preparation. Every panel was gently cleaned, free from residue, and inspected under studio lighting. We don’t rush this stage. The condition of the surface before film matters as much as the application itself.

For this project, we used ProFilm Matte PPF, a film designed specifically to maintain the original satin appearance of matte vehicles. It doesn’t create shine or artificial gloss. Application That Keeps a Low Profile

From the hood to the rear bumper, every part of the E63 was fitted with hand-cut sections of film. Matte PPF isn’t forgiving, precision is non-negotiable. Our technicians worked slowly, sealing edges without tension, avoiding stretch marks, and applying pressure in small, controlled passes.

The side mirrors, window pillars, door handles, and even the diffuser required detailed trimming to match the unique curves of the AMG body. The goal? A surface that looks untouched, yet silently reinforced.
