Window tints are a much sought-after enhancement for vehicles, offering a whole spectrum of advantages such as heightened privacy and enhanced aesthetics so let’s explore some of the upsides and possible downsides of window tints:
Privacy enhancement: Many RMA PPF customers opt for window tints to increase the privacy levels in their vehicles. Tinted windows serve as a barrier, making it challenging for outsiders to peer into the car, giving an enhanced sense of security for occupants.
UV protection: At RMA PPF, we understand the importance of safeguarding both the vehicle’s interior and its passengers from harmful UV rays. Window tints act as a shield, working to block out UV radiation, thus preserving the upholstery and dashboard while reducing the risk of skin damage.
Temperature regulation: With our commitment to providing comprehensive car care solutions, we recognise the significance of maintaining optimal interior temperatures. Tinted windows effectively mitigate solar heat, ensuring a cooler cabin environment, which in turn minimises the need for excessive air conditioning and enhances fuel efficiency.
Glare reduction: Driving comfort and safety are paramount concerns for RMA PPF customers. Window tints help mitigate glare from sunlight or headlights, ensuring a clearer and more comfortable driving experience by reducing eye strain for both drivers and passengers.
Legal Compliance: It’s important to note that window tint regulations vary by location, and non-compliance could result in legal repercussions. RMA PPF advises customers to familiarise themselves with local laws governing tint darkness in order to avoid potential fines or penalties. Where we’re based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), regulations regarding window tinting are specified as follows: The front windshield is required to maintain a minimum Visible Light Transmission (VLT) of 70%, indicating that no tinting is permitted on the front windshield. As for the front side windows, which include those for the driver and passenger, they must maintain a minimum VLT of 50%.
